OffBeat recognizes the timeless Dirty Dozen Brass Band with the Lifetime Achievement Award
This year, OffBeat Magazine joyfully jumps into the second line to acknowledge the Dirty Dozen Brass Band’s contributions to New Orleans’ spirited soundtrack by honoring the ensemble with its Lifetime Achievement Award in Music.
Original members, trumpeter and vocalist Gregory Davis, tenor saxophonist Kevin Harris, sousaphonist Kirk Joseph, and baritone saxophonist Roger Lewis also offer their present-day insights on their experiences with the Dirty Dozen. The group, which has successfully endured numerous personnel changes, now includes drummer Julian Addison, guitarist Takashi Shimmura and trombonist TJ Norris.
We’ll be returning to Florida next month performing at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater on April 17th, followed by the make-up date in Ponte Vedra after we were rained out a few weeks back. Check our Tour Page for info on all the shows & keep an eye out for more to come!
To help bring in the 2021 Mardi Gras season, DDBB will head south to Florida for 3 dates of socially-distanced performances in Boca Raton at the Funky Biscuit, in Miami at the Arsht Center Plaza and in Ponte Vedra, at the Flagler Health+ Pavilion.
